How to go to Cappadocia from Istanbul?

The distance between Cappadocia and Istanbul is 730 km. When we look at the map, we see that Cappadocia is in the middle of the land. There are many ways to reach Cappadocia from Istanbul, you can go by plane, by bus, by train and by car.

• To go Cappadocia by Plane

If you want to go by plane, you can find daily flights from both airports in Istanbul. Turkish airlines and other airlines have daily flights to Cappadocia. The flight time is 70 minutes. There are two closest airports in the Cappadocia region. One is Kayseri airport, the other one is Nevsehir airport. You can go to settlements such as Göreme, Ürgüp, Avanos with regular shuttles from these airports. If you book in advance, privatel services will welcome you and take you to your hotel.
There are also flights from Izmir and from Antalya, but not everyday. There are some days of the week.

• To go Cappadocia by Bus

Other buses depart in the evening and arrive next day in the morning. The journey takes approximately 12 hours. It has to be 2 drivers in bus companies. They drive the bus in turn every 3 hours. They stop at least twice on the way and take a break for your toilet needs and for food and beverage needs. Buses are very comfortable. It is much more comfortable than many European countries. All buses have wifi. Many bus companies offer complimentary refreshments such as tea, coffee and water. When you arrive at Nevşehir bus station in Cappadocia, they take you to Göreme, Ürgüp and other places with free shuttles.

There are also bus services from many cities to Cappadocia. You can find regular bus services from cities such as Ankara, Bursa, İzmir, Antalya, Samsun, Adana, Konya and Kayseri.

• To go Cappadocia by Train

If you want to go to Cappadocia by train, you need to go to Ankara first, you will go to Kayseri  

with another train from Ankara. There are train services several times a day. You can reach Cappadocia by bus from Kayseri. When the newly built train route is opened, you can go to Kayseri by direct high-speed train from Istanbul.
We hope that the new railway will be opened up to a couple of years. Although it is not very popular now, high speed train services will also become popular.

• To go Cappadocia by Car

You can also go to Cappadocia with your own car or rental car. The roads are very beautiful and double-sided. There are many beautiful facilities where you can stop and take a break along the way. From Istanbul to Cappadocia is 735 km. First you have to go from Istanbul to Ankara, it is 5 hours driving. Then you have to Aksaray and then to Nevsehir. Total about 8 hours driving. If you stop on the way for break then maybe 10 hours latter you will be in Cappadocia.
